Dr. Allison Miller, DVM, CVA, CTPEP
Fern and Aster Miller, office managers
Originally from the Finger Lakes region of New York, Dr. Miller completed her undergraduate and veterinary studies at Cornell University. Following graduation, she completed an equine internship at a referral and ambulatory practice in northern Vermont and spent the next five years in a performance horse practice near Boston, MA. She studied veterinary acupuncture for horses and small animals at the Chi Institute in Reddick, FL and became a certified veterinary acupuncturist in 2014. She started seeing patients shortly after becoming certified. In 2018, Dr. Miller returned to the Chi Institute for advanced studies in palliative and end of life care to learn further techniques to better serve her patients and clients. Following the course, she completed the requirements to become a certified TCVM Palliative and End of Life Practitioner (CTPEP). Dr. Miller strongly believes in the integration of Eastern and Western medicine to achieve the best medical outcome for your pet and does not hesitate to refer you back to your primary veterinarian for additional diagnostics or treatments. When not working, Dr. Miller enjoys spending time with her family and menagerie of animals. In 2019, she is undergoing further training to become a certified canine rehabilitation practitioner (CCRP) through courses at The University of Tennessee School of Veterinary Medicine.
Fern and Aster help supervise the business from home. Occasionally you may see them in Dr. Miller's car if the appointment is for a large animal. She trains and competes in agility with Fern. Both dogs enjoy hiking the trails around Ithaca and in the Green and White Mountains on family vacations.
